| Energy Tips
Did you know? According to the U.S. Department of Energy, transportation accounts for 66% of oil use in the United States. Keep your fuel use down by following these tips:
Don't warm up by idling. The best way to warm up your vehicle is to drive it. Any idling over 30 seconds just wastes fuel and increases harmful emissions.
Replace your clogged air filters. A clogged air filter can reduce your fuel efficiency up to 10%! Don't drive aggressively. Aggressive driving wastes gas and can lower your highway gas mileage by 33%. Slow down. Fuel efficiency is increased 15% when driving 65 mph rather than 75 mph.
Clean your car. Extra weight in your vehicle decreases your gas mileage. Keep your tires inflated. Properly inflated tires can improve your mileage by over 3%!
Carpool, vanpool, or ride mass transit. Find a vanpool or search one of many carpool/rideshare websites (mirideshare.org, erideshare.com, carpoolworld.com).
